Hussey Royal Blue

A few weeks ago after my visit with Gerrol Jalving ,note my previous blog's, who I met the first time at the Newport Potato Show through Martin Moyden, discussing potatoes at the show, he then cultivated these beautiful deep Purple potatoes which I was after for vision, taste and texture, and foremost a quality local grown product. Gerrol send me my first order and that arrived today, I am over the moon with the result, not only the potatoes are oh so tasty and fresh, Gerrol unexpectedly made a fantastic label for the Hussey Royal Blue potatoes. I feel very humble but to prove my point that working with local producers to get the best ingredients you are after for your restaurant, using best quality local products has again paid of again, and being a Chef is not just cooking, just make it work for all involved. Cheers to the first supply of 'Hussey Royal Blue' and 'Erika' ....take note.....
